Thai Consonants (Transliterations)
There are 44 consonants in Thai script. Some Thai consonants have the same sound but they have used spelling in different words and gives the different meaning.
Conversation Lessons will use English transliteration (ka-ra-o-ke language). There is no standard using English transliterations for learning Thai. Different books, different authors might have their own versions. You might see I write “Sawatdii-hello” this way and see other authors write “Sawaddee-hello”. Nothing right or wrong in either way as long as you can pronounce the syllables correctly.
Not all Thai consonants can match with the English phonetic sounds. We will take a look closely at that particular consonants. Let view the consonants, watch the video and repeat after me.
